Zig Zagging Crimp

Zig Zag Crimping

Zig zagging is a way of crimping the hair by using a pin and wrapping the hair around it and then putting heat on it with straighter.

The way you start the zig zag crimp is by threading a piece of hair through the middle of the clip then wrapping it behind and then in front of the pin and then behind the other one. It will be in a figure of 8 around the pin.

Once you have got to the end of the pin you then secure it with a hair grip.

Once you have secured it you then need to place the straighteners on the hair and hold it there for a few seconds, and make sure you get all the hair that is on the pin.

Once all your pins have cooled down you can then take off the grip and slide out the pin, then comb through the crimped hair.
After it has been brushed through this creates a very frizzy and volumes' look.
I then created an Elizabethan style beehive on the top of the head, this really reminded me of a portrait I came across in the National Portrait museum which I have put at the bottom of this blog.
